A POLICE raid resulted in a cache of dangerous weapons being seized in Mottingham yesterday (March 2).

Bromley police’s proactive crime squad swooped on a house in Portland Road at around 7.30am and recovered a sawn-off shot gun, along with a high-calibre hunting rifle, a quantity of ammunition, a large machete and an air pistol.

Cops also discovered a large quantity of jewellery, watches, mobile phones and two bags stuffed with what is believed to be class A drugs.

Officers from the Met’s firearms unit also attended the scene to identify and make safe the firearms.

The proactive crime squad targets addresses believed to be linked to burglaries and the handling of stolen goods.

  • A 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, possession of class A drugs and firearms offences. They remain in custody at Bromley police station.
