BROMLEY: Albanian gang brandish guns in online boasts

AN Albanian gang is continuing to flood the internet with violent music videos and pictures of men apparently brandishing automatic weapons.
A group from Bromley calling themselves the OTR gang has recorded dozens of music videos in the past year and posted scores of pictures online of alleged members handling potentially lethal handguns and rifles.
Most of the videos are accompanied by rap songs with lyrics threatening violence.
The latest video was uploaded on a video sharing website last week and begins showing an OTR logo below the words ON TOP OF THE REST.
The crude four-minute rap then brags that an OTR gang member will “put a punch in your mouth” and says: “If I pull the trigger you’re going to permanently bleed.”
Several videos refer to a Glock - a brand of pistol.
The hateful lyrics continue: “I pull guns out of hats, now that’s magic.
“I’m pulling my Glock, I’ll feed you to dogs, throw your body over a cliff, leave you sleeping with rocks.”
Pictures labelled O.T.R/GG ARMY's Photos on a popular social networking site also show several men wielding what appear to be automatic rifles and handguns.
In one picture a man is holding a black pistol up to another man’s head.
It is unclear whether the weapons are replicas.
Many of the pictures include men and women showing off OTR tattoos on their arms, hands and stomachs.
More videos depict men driving expensive sports cars wearing OTR branded T-shirts and gold chains.
In other recent OTR online posts, alleged gang members are seen in baseball hats and baggy clothes showing off flags, tattoos and banners emblazoned with the black two-headed eagle on the Albanian flag.
And a video posted on November 12 talks about an OTR gang member “rolling through the hood” with a gun and then goes on to describe shooting someone in the stomach.
The same video starts with a picture of a two-headed eagle behind the words “BROMLEY A TOWN”.
In 2006, News Shopper exclusively revealed the group was posting pictures of themselves on the internet handling weapons and the Met Police sought to reassure the public that there was “no indication of gun-related crime associated with the Albanian community in Bromley”.
A year later, Scotland Yard’s Special Crime Directorate named the On Top Of The Rest gang on a list of more than 200 in the capital.
Bromley Police insist the guns on show are fake.
A spokesman said: “There's no evidence that these photographs involve real weapons and no evidence that the photos were taken in Bromley, or even this country. “There's nothing to say that these are recent photos.”
Borough commander Chief Superintendent Charles Griggs added: "We are aware of the OTR.
“We also use the internet as a source of intelligence and we will continue to take proactive action against any organised criminal network in Bromley.”

The Albanian community in London isnt even that large yet whenever it is in the headlines it is only the insignificant few of them that are involved in crime that receive all the attention. A small contingent of organised criminals are often reported to be in charge of many brothels across mainly the west End and north London, sextrafficking girls from Bulgaria and Romania and setting up labouring firms - but OTR hardly come across as organised ruthless criminals. What is actually known about them and the crimes that they commit, other than having a website that tries to bolster a reputation with photographs they have never hit the headlines for any major crimes have they? The problem is people look at these "gang sites" and just believe everything on them, its kids stuff not criminal. Did any of the older people here ever what to be a cowboy? You ever pose with replica guns and a John Wayne hat? Thats just been replaced with imagery of the Gangsta Rapper and the net is somewhere this stuff can be displayed - its mostly never more sinister than that so can we please get over the sensationalised press article that has no real substance to it being that the bulk of its content relies predominantly on a website made by a child??? A little common sense please!
Also according to the net, OTR are a small group of Albanian youths from the Coppice Estate area of Bromley who began in the mid 2000's. The extent of their activities were fist fights with the nearby gang on the Turpington Estate. Now the older teens involved fancy themselves as rappers who make music videos just like any other American rap artist with visual props such as guns.

What worries me the most is the fact that the Quality of the Media has fallen dramaticaly. If you think these "kids" are a threat to the community then you are not looking beyond your nose. The MET & Scotland Yard needs to focus their goals on real criminals out there, not kids who go to college and scribble rap poems on their lunch breaks.
If Bromley’s criminals are these so called rappers then all I can say I that the system has failed.

The problem is that by letting in thousands of people unscreened we got many wrong kind of immigrants who should have been kept outside, eg. members of the Albanian Mafia and wanna-be gansters who have taken organised crime in the UK to a new level. It's also a fact that in many parts of the UK Albanians have been very active users of public services such as housing and that we've had to provide all kinds of services to them in Albanian.

Either we deal with this sensibly and moderately or there is going to come a point where the country will elect whichever party will deal with it, moderate or not. I don't support the BNP but in the last 10 years I've gone from knowing nobody who supported them to finding myself in the minority when I say that. I recently argued with a Sri Lankan who was supporting Griffin!

England is already one of the 5 most densely populated (sizeable) countries in the world. Most of those are crammed into the South East. Many of our social problems, from road congestion to strain on housing, schools and hospitals, are the direct result of overpopulation. There is no good reason to keep on importing people, we certainly shouldn't be doing it in a recession and it's difficult to argue with Locked And Loaded that there must be some sort of political agenda behind it. No matter what the left think, people do not have a "right" to come and live here. It's quite reasonable to shut the door.
