POLICE have found two guns hidden in Mayow Park, Forest Hill, following a search for weapons.
A Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Perry Vale uncovered two bags hidden in an undergrowth area which contained two revolver-style guns inside.
One is believed to be a reactivated starter pistol which had the barrel adapted to make it usable.
The other was a normal revolver with two rounds of ammunition inside. Both were taken to Lewisham Police station for further examination.
Safer neighbourhood team member Sergeant Philip Moore said: “All local team officers regularly carry out targeted weapons sweeps to take knives, guns, or other dangerous items off the streets of Lewisham to prevent serious violence."
