PINT-SIZED explorers dressed in wellies and waterproofs have ventured into the woods to learn about wildlife.
Pupils from Cobham Primary School of The Street, went down to Kent County Council’s Shorne Woods Country Park to take part in The Buddying Project, which aims to improve students’ awareness of the countryside.
The reception class children had hours of fun at the park in Brewers Road, Gravesend looking for insects, climbing over logs, discovering different leaf shapes and paddling in muddy ditches.
Kent County Council’s cabinet member for children, families and education, Councillor Sarah Hohler, said: “Some of these children may never have ventured out in the countryside before.
“Even after their first visit you can see how excited they are and this excitement helps fuel their interest in learning, both about the woodland visit and learning in general.”
