A TOWN centre has been turned into a giant advent calendar as part of a church's festivities.
St Alfege Church, in Church Street, Greenwich, has teamed up with schools, pubs and shops to decorate 24 windows around Greenwich.
A window is being unveiled each day in the run-up to Christmas and the theme for the calendar is Cast Away the Dreams of Darkness.
The first window was unveiled on December 1 at Church vicar the Rev Chris Moody said: “This advent windows theme is a call to put away the dreams of darkness and look forward, not just with hope, but with a renewed sense of what’s important.”
