A £1.9M scheme to move a town’s library has been granted planning permission by councillors.
This means Orpington Library will be moved from its current site in The Priory, Church Hill, to the ground and first floor of the council building at The Walnuts.
Bromley Council believes this move will help revitalise the town.
Planning committee members originally deferred their decision at a meeting on October 29 because of failings of the architectural plans drawn up on behalf of the council.
Errors included missing out some of the doors and windows on the College Square building.
But revised plans were submitted to the council and the committee approved the idea at a meeting on November 26.
The scheme will be voted on at a full council meeting on December 15.
