SIX schools have been named “outstanding” by an Ofsted report.
One of them is Chelwood Nursery School, Chelwood Walk, St Norberts Road, Brockley.
Headteacher Nicola Oldhams said: “We are pleased Chelwood Child Centre's early years practice and emphasis on partnership with families has been recognised as outstanding by Ofsted.”
Three schools for children with severe learning difficulties received the status - Brent Knoll School, Mayow Road, Forest Hill; Greenvale School, Waters Road, Catford; and Watergate School, Lushington Road, Bellingham.
St William of York Catholic Primary School, Brockley Park, Forest Hill; and New Woodlands School Shroffold Road, Bromley, also received the oustanding status.
Ofsted’s chief inspector of education, children's services and skills Christine Gilbert said: "I would like to congratulate all who contributed to the success of outstanding provision across all areas of education, training and children's social care in Lewisham.”
