A TEENAGE girl is set to become a pop star after a music guru spotted her singing on video website YouTube.

After seeing footage of Gravesend resident CJ Morgan performing at a youth talent show, producer and agent David A Nash signed her to record dance track Lonely.

The single will be released in February, and with two more tracks in the pipeline it looks like being the beginning of a pop career for the 14-year-old Rochester Road resident.

CJ said: “David saw me singing I’m Your Angel by Celine Dion and R Kelly with a friend and got in touch with my mum. I was so excited. I have always wanted to be a singer on TV.”

Supported by mum and dad Lisa and Stuart, both aged 36, and sisters 12-year-old Jessica and 10-year-old Isobel, CJ has been performing on stage since the age of four.

Mr Nash, who has worked with Michael Jackson and Madonna, says CJ was a natural when it came to recording Lonely, getting it right it just one session.

He said: “CJ worked her backside off in the studio, she did all the vocals in one day. She had no idea how it all worked and that was beautiful to watch.”

CJ is a pupil at St John's Catholic Comprehensive School in Rochester Road, Gravesend, and her mum says her music career won’t get in the way of her education.

Mrs Morgan said: “When the single comes out, CJ will be performing it around the country at weekends, so we’ll be able to make sure she focuses on her studies during the week.”

The video of CJ singing I’m Your Angel was recorded during a Gravesham Council run talent show, and she sang in another council organised show on Saturday.

Along with 25 other acts, she performed at Woodville Halls theatre during Gifted Young Gravesham, which showcased some of the boroughs up and coming stars. To listen to CJ singing Lonely, go to myspace.com/distinctivemusiclimited
