FESTIVE cheer will be lighting up a town centre as the countdown to Christmas begins in earnest.

Seasonal lights will be switched on in Station Approach, Hayes, at 6pm next Saturday (November 28) by a ‘Santa Paws’ mascot from the Bromley Lions Club and Father Christmas.

The switch-on event will also include festive stalls, a Santa’s grotto, stage entertainment and Christmas carols in the New Inn pub car park.

The event has been organised by Hayes Traders, the New Inn and Hayes Village Association.

Stall holders will be setting up from noon while entertainment on the stage begins at 4pm.
