THE undercarriage of a jet caught fire at Biggin Hill airport on Wednesday afternoon (November 11).
Firefighters from Biggin Hill fire station were called to the airport at around 1pm and spent an hour bringing the flames under control.
No-one was injured during the fire and the plane was empty at the time.
It is thought the jet was undergoing routine ground maintenance before the blaze.
Fire crews from Addington fire station also attended the scene, along with the airport’s own emergency response team.
