STAFF working for Bexley Care Trust have been lining up to receive their swine flu vaccinations.
The frontline doctors and nurses are among the first in the borough to receive the vaccine.
Dr Jo Medhurst, the trust’s medical director said: “Now is not the time for anyone to be complacent about catching swine flu.”
She added: “The virus can lead to serious complications in people with underlying health conditions so it is important we do everything we can to stop vulnerable patients from catching the virus.”
Vaccinations of vulnerable groups begin this week and GPs across the borough will be contacting patients to tell them about the schedule for receiving the vaccine.
Dr Medhurst advised: “If you are pregnant or have a pre-existing medical condition like asthma or diabetes you should have the swine flu vaccination as soon as you receive your invitation.”
People needing advice should talk to their GP, or for information on the vaccine call the national pandemic flu service information line of 0800 1513 513 or the treatment service on 0800 1513 100.
