REMEMBRANCE services were held across north Kent this weekend to honour those who died fighting for their country.
On Saturday people gathered at Stone Recreation Ground in London Road, while on Sunday services were held in Windmill Gardens in Gravesend, The Hill in Northfleet and Market Street in Dartford.
A ‘Pause to Remember’ service will be held on the forecourt of the Civic Centre in Windmill Street, Gravesend, at 11am on Wednesday.
At the service, Reverend Canon Chris Stone, of St George's Church, Church Street, Gravesend, will read the Royal British Legion exhortation by Laurence Binyon.
He will say: “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
“Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
“At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
“We will remember them.”
