A 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire in South Hill Road, Gravesend, this morning.
Firefighters from Thames-side station were called to the house at around 5.40am and found two people inside.
A firefighter on the scene said neither person was seriously injured.
The bathroom and lounge had been alight but the flames had gone out by the time the firefighters arrived.
A spokeswoman for Kent police said officers are "treating the cause of the fire as suspicious".
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time.
