A COUNCIL'S garden waste service has been extended until the end of the month.
The service, which gives residents the chance to have their autumn leaves and garden rubbish taken away by Lewisham Council, was due to end on November 1.
But due to popular demand the service will now run until November 30.
People can deposit waste at the collection point at the junction of Riddons Road and Mayeswood Road in Grove Park, or the Girton Road car park in Sydenham.
Alternatively garden waste can be taken to Kitto Road in Telegraph Hill or the Laurence House car park in Catford.
Waste must be brought along in plastic or reusable bags to dispose of flowers and plants, grass clippings, hedge trimmings, leaves, twigs and branches up to four inches in diameter.
The service is free, but residents should bring along proof of address and ID.
