A 23-YEAR-OLD man seriously assaulted outside a cinema at the weekend has died.
Richard Price was found in an alleyway between the Empire cinema and Dini’s cafe, in Bromley High Street, on Saturday night (October 31).
He was suffering from severe head injuries and ambulance crews took him to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, where he was placed on a life support machine.
But police have confirmed Mr Price died at 10.40am this morning (November 3).
A post mortem examination will take place in due course.
The Met’s homicide and serious crime command has launched a murder investigation after the assault, which happened at around 11.30pm.
Assistant Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Clayman said: "We understand that on Saturday night Richard was drinking in the Swan and Mitre pub.
"We are particularly keen on speaking to a man and a woman we understand were assaulted in this pub prior to our victim leaving.
“These two people we believe are significant witnesses and would urge them to contact us.
"We are appealing for anyone who was in the pub at between 10.30pm and 11pm or nearby the pub at around 11.30pm to midnight.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone that was in or around the town centre of Saturday night that may have seen Richard or the initial assault which led to his death."
Anyone with any information should call the incident room on 020 8345 3775 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
- Four men, aged 19, 36, and two aged 24, remain in police custody after being arrested in connection with the assault.
