SHOPPERS are set to benefit from proposals to make a high street more pedestrian-friendly.
Lewisham Council has unveiled plans for a £3m development in Sydenham.
If Transport for London agrees to help fund the project, Sydenham Road and Kirkdale will undergo improvements aimed at creating a more pleasant environment for shoppers.
The council also plans to spend £300,000 upgrading Sydenham Station Approach.
An exhibition at 59 Sydenham Road gives a detailed overview of the proposed scheme and offers the public a chance to question the council’s planning team.
It is open until November 14, from 5pm until 8pm on weekdays except Tuesday, and from 11am until 3pm on Saturdays.
