HUNDREDS of trees will be planted as part of a scheme to make the capital's neighbourhoods look more pleasant.
Around 355 street trees will be planted around Lewisham between November and spring next year.
The borough is one of 20 in London taking part in the green drive which has been organised by the Mayor of London and managed by the Forestry Commission.
Boris Johnson said: "Trees are wonderful additions to our communities - helping to make neighbourhoods more pleasant.
"I am thrilled with the success of this programme in planting these trees in the areas which will benefit most."
This is the second round of tree planting in the capital. Ten other boroughs had a total of 1,500 trees planted earlier in the year.
