PENGE: Volunteers can help to plant bulbs

VOLUNTEERS can have fun improving nature by helping to plant bulbs.

The Friends of Cator Park and Alexandra Recreation Ground are holding two bulb planting events.

Families have the chance to help plant the bulbs in Cator Park, Aldersmead Road, Beckenham, and also Alexandra Recreation Ground in Alexandra Road, Penge.

The events are taking place at Cator Park on November 7 with the second event on November 14.

Both events start at 10am, meeting by the noticeboards and volunteers should bring their own trowels, bulb-planters, mats etc.

It will last about three hours and everyone will be put into different groups.

Last year more than 3,000 bulbs were planted which included daffodils, English bluebells, and tulips.

People wishing to volunteer should email friends.cator-and-alexandra@live.co.uk or write to FOCAAR, Ann Springman Hall, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH

Any children wishing to take part need to be looked after by a parent or guardian.
