A FIVE-A-SIDE football tournament has raised thousands for charity for the third year running.
Sponsored dads battled it out for sporting glory while families enjoyed a bouncy castle, a ball pit, face painting and a children’s entertainer.
The event was dreamed up three years ago to raise money for the Phoenix Pre-School Centre in Mason’s Hill, Bromley.
In 2007 it raised £9,000 and footballers kicked their way to £16,500 last year.
This year the tournament has brought in around £10,000 which will go to the Friends of the Phoenix Pre-School charity which raises money for the centre.
Co-organiser Liz Cordingley said: “It all started off because a friend of mine’s daughter uses the centre.
“Everybody is so generous and we are overwhelmed with the support.
“It is always such a tremendous success so we just keep on doing it.”
