A SEX offender is back in prison after robbing a woman in Penge just days after being released from custody.
Mohammed Kendeh, of Beckenham Road, Beckenham, snatched a purse from his 28-year-old victim after throwing a jacket over her head and pushing her to the ground.
He was arrested shortly after the robbery by allotments near Thayers Farm Road on July 17.
The 22-year-old was given a five-and-a-half year sentence at Croydon Crown Court on Friday (October 16) after pleading guilty to robbery.
Kendeh had been released from prison earlier in July. He was jailed on February 14, 2005, after pleading guilty to two charges of indecent assault committed in 2003. The Sierra Leone man had only been out of a detention centre for a week when he committed the first of these offences, after serving a sentence for burglary.
Kendeh must serve out his current licence period in prison up to June next year before serving the latest sentence for robbery.
He has been recommended for deportation back to Sierra Leone upon release.
