LONDON is at an increased risk of flooding and drought due to climate change, experts have warned.

The London Climate Change Partnership said that over the summer wetland areas in the capital could experience drought due to a rise in temperature.

Flooding could also occur at rivers in the area due to winters being wetter and warmer.

The partnership recommends river restoration as a way to combat the risk along with using green roofs on buildings and increasing the number of the city’s trees.

Its report was released to coincide with United Nations World Habitat Day.

The partnership is a group of organisations working to increase London’s understanding of global warming.
