SWANLEY: Faulty hairdryer sparks counterfeit goods warning

The faulty hairdryer had inadequate electric shock protection and an illegal plug.
SHOPPERS are being warned to stay vigilant for counterfeit items after faulty goods were seized at a car boot sale near Swanley.
Kent Trading Standards recently seized a hairdryer and straightener set from a stall at the Pedham Boot Fair and found it to be unsafe.
The £20 set had inadequate electric shock protection, counterfeit parts and illegal plugs.
Consumers are urged not to buy anything that they think could be counterfeit and to report any concerns to consumer direct on 0845 404 0506.
