A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following the discovery of a body in a suitcase in Kent.

The man was arrested at 6am this morning (Sept 29) in Malpas Road, Brockley.

It follows Kent police’s discovery on September 24 of a badly decomposed body in a suitcase in a dried-up pond by farmland in Cliffe near Rochester.

The body has since been identified as Leah Questin, a 37-year-old care worker from Brent.

Forensic tests are ongoing to establish the cause of her death.

Ms Questin had been reported missing by a friend at around midday on September 16.

She was last seen captured on CCTV leaving Elephant and Castle to board a 172 bus.

Ms Questin is described as 4ft 11ins tall with a petite build, a light complexion and long black hair.

She was wearing a red top and blue jeans.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Lansdown, of the Met’s homicide and serious crime command, said: "I appeal to anyone who saw Leah in south-east London or on the 172 bus or its route on September 12 to contact us.

"We also need to hear from anyone who may have seen her after September 12 and up until her body was found as we need to understand where she was going, who she was meeting and how she came to be murdered.”

The arrested man remains in custody at a north London police station.

Anyone with information should call police on 020 8358 0200 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
