POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl from Oxleas Woods in Shooters Hill.

The incident happened on August 28 at around 4.30pm.

As the teenager was walking with a group of friends through the woods, a man grabbed her arm and tried to push her into a bush.

He ran away when the girl screamed.

The man is described as black and in his 20s.

He was wearing a black pair of tracksuit bottoms and a large hood, which concealed his face.
