ALLEGED racist abuse by fans during Tuesday’s West Ham v Millwall football match has been condemned by the clubs.

There have been allegations that some fans made monkey chants at both West Ham’s Carlton Cole and Millwall's Jason Price.

A statement from the Lions said: “Millwall FC condemns racist abuse by supporters of both sides on Tuesday night.

"There is absolutely no place for racism in society.

"Both Millwall and West Ham work tirelessly in our respective communities to tackle this problem."

The Carling Cup tie at Upton Park has also been marred by violent scenes before and during the game.

Thirteen people have so far been arrested over the trouble.

A 44-year-old man was stabbed in Priory Road, just yards from the ground, and is now in a stable condition.

There were also three pitch invasions during the game.

Police and football officials are investigating the mass violence.

Millwall have promised an indefinite ban for anyone involved while West Ham say they will ban fans for life.
