STAFF from a shopping centre have completed a 35-mile cycling challenge to raise money towards a new minibus for a hospice.
Five workers from Lewisham Shopping Centre cycled from Demelza House Children's Hospice in Eltham to the charity's other hospice in Sittingbourne in a time of just over five hours.
The staff raised around of £2,500 through sponsorship towards a new £16,000 minibus for Demelza during the feat on August 21.
Manager at Lewisham Shopping Centre Paul Redden, who took part in the challenge, said: "It was hard work, especially for those who don't do that much exercise. We had to climb a total of 12 hills in between Eltham and Sittingbourne.
"Demelza is extremely worthy of everyone’s support for the care they bring to children with life-limiting illnesses."
