PEOPLE have until the end of this month to make their comments on the future of south east London’s Green Chain Walk.

The 16.5 mile walk stretches from Erith to Crystal Palace, taking in ancient woodlands, historic parks, heaths and farmland and is available for the public to use.

Recently a new seven-mile extension to Dulwich Park has been added.

Now the Green Chain Partnership, made up of representatives from the boroughs of Bexley, Greenwich, Bromley, Lewisham and Southwark, have drafted a management plan setting out a range of targets to be achieved by 2014.

And the partnership wants to hear the public’s views on its proposals.

The 50 point plan includes attracting more cash to maintain and promote the green chain; increase community involvement through a newsletter and the annual walking festival as well as increase its use as an educational resource and for health initiatives.

People can view and comment on the plan at greenchain.com Alternatively, people can email comments to info@greenchain.com fax comments to 020 8921 5442 or write to Green Chain Project Office, Crown Building, 48 Woolwich New Road SE18 6HQ.

The deadline for comments is August 31.
