A FLYING club has celebrated its 50th birthday.
Alouette Flying Club is now based at Biggin Hill Airport but was founded at Croydon Airport in 1959 by Don Perch and Frank Lawson.
Club members celebrated the landmark with a party and raffle in their clubhouse at Biggin Hill Airport, attended by Mr Perch, the wife of the late Mr Lawson, and Mayor of Bromley Councillor Douglas Auld.
Flying instructor and club member Bruno Bruniges said: “There was much handshaking and slapping of backs as past members reunited and current members got to know each other more.
“Fifty years old and we’re still going from strength to strength.”
Visit alouette.org.uk for more information on how to join the club.
