RESIDENTS can enjoy a series of walks around the area’s Green Chain, as part of a festival.
The walking festival runs from September 12 to September 20 across Lewisham and Greenwich and includes woodland rambles, park walks, a tree trail, storytelling and heritage talks, all free of charge.
It includes short walks around Avery Hill Park in Eltham and in Horn Park, Lee, on September 17.
And one big walk on September 19 starts at 10am from Eltham Palace, Court Yard, Eltham, and finishes seven miles later at the Thames Barrier.
Events also take place at Maryon and Maryon Wilson Park, Bostall Woods, Grove Park Nature Reserve, Sydenham Wells Park and Well Hall Pleasaunce.
All the walks will be hosted by a community group giving an insight into the area.
There is no need to book.
