FIREFIGHTERS were forced to cut the roof off a car last night (August 24) after a crash in West Wickham.
Emergency services were called to West Wickham High Street at around 8.30pm after reports that a car and van had crashed at the busy junction with Station Road.
Firefighters removed the roof of the small hatchback with cutting equipment before helping the injured driver onto a spine board.
The driver - thought to be in his late 30s - was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Two people in the van were uninjured in the crash.
Firefighters say they remained at the scene near the Swan pub until around 9.30pm.
High Street and Station Road were both cordoned off after the crash.
