A MAN will spend his hour of fame on the Trafalgar Square plinth tomorrow, conducting a series of "pseudo-scientific experiments".
Paul Speller, 30, from Bascombe Grove, Crayford, who works in Bexley Council's finance department, takes his place on the fourth plinth from midday until 1pm.
He has lots of ideas for experiments, many sent in by people to his website, and has chosen to try and carry out some of the most popular ones.
Some of the experiments he will undertake are: Is it possible to fry an egg on the plinth?
Do people have better memories than pigeons?
Is it possible to take a close-up photo of his open hand with his family in the distance appearing to stand on it?
Does the size of paper affect how far a paper aeroplane can fly?
Does a tin can phone really work?
Mr Speller did a run-through in his garden of some of the experiments yesterday.
He said: "I have got quite a lot to fit in, in the time."
He added: "It is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"I am a little bit nervous, but very excited."
You can see which experiments Mr Speller accepted or rejected on his website at plinthipaul.co.uk where any which scored four or above, will be done tomorrow.
You can also watch his experiments live on the plinth between midday and 1pm tomorrow at oneandother.co.uk
