A BINMAN from Anerley has appeared in court accused of attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country.
UK Border Agency officers seized two kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of £84,000 during a baggage search at Gatwick Airport on Monday (August 2) after a flight from Barbados landed.
Richard Harry, of Tremaine Road, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with importation of cocaine hydrochloride.
The 35-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Haywards Heath Magistrates’ Court via videolink next Wednesday (August 12).
