YOUNGSTERS have had fun watching performances at an open air concert.

The concert, called ‘Street Scene 2’, was held at Penge Recreation Ground, off the high street in Penge, on July 12.

It was organised by community group, Penge Festival, as a way to encourage young people aged between 13 and 20 to try out new things in their spare time, instead of hanging around on the streets.

More than 70 people attended throughout the day and watched performances from singers and dancers and also took part in face painting and learned about the Air Cadets.

Organiser, Wendie Roche, said: “It was an event to get youngsters off the streets and to give them an idea about what they could do.

“It was also our way of getting Penge Recreation Ground back as a working park.”
