DARTFORD: College redevelopment funding back on track

A COLLEGE is to receive cash to redevelop a campus after funding problems put the plans in doubt.

North West Kent College will get the funding from the Learning and Skills Council to improve its campus in Oakfield Lane, Dartford.

The college was one of 144 across the country whose bids were put on hold earlier this year after the council realised it did not have sufficient funding.

It was originally promised £69m for the five-year redevelopment.

Now along with 12 others, the college will get the much-needed cash, although the actual amount is still to be finalised.

Dartford MP Dr Howard Stoate said: “I’m delighted that the college’s bid has been approved.

“It’s great news for the students and staff of the college.”

Perhaps Mr Stoate can pay a visit and help out with the gardening? After all, he's got all the equipment because he claimed for it through his expenses.
