FAMILIES will be running up to 10 kilometres to raise money for charity this weekend.

The Wellness Run will take place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, in Ledrington Road, Crystal Palace on Sunday (JUNE 7)

British athlete, Joanna Ankier will be attending the event to hand out medals to the winners.

The event, now in its fourth year, is open to runners of all ages and abilities and all profits raised will go to the charity Diabetes UK.

It is organised by leisure company GLL, which run more than 65 sports centres across London.

Roz Rosenblatt, London regional manager for Diabetes UK said: “The run will not only be a fun day for all, but will also raise funds which will go towards the vital work of Diabetes UK and raise awareness of the importance of physical activity.”

People can choose to take part in either a five kilometre run, a 10 kilometre run, and the children either a 100 metre run or a 25 metre run.
