A DISABLED pensioner has been left housebound after an access ramp was stolen from the entrance of her home.

Police were called to the property on Dermody Road, Hither Green, on May 29, at 10.50pm, after 66-year-old Fredena Bailey noticed her wheel chair ramp was missing.

She says she has been disabled since the early 90s and needs to use a wheel chair when out of the house.

The metal ramp allowed her to manoeuvre the step from her front door and Ms Bailey is now distraught she cannot leave her home.

She said: “Since I was two I have suffered from diabtes with complications that have now left me with walking problems.

“How can you do that to a disabled person? People just don’t care do they?”

Police say they are investigating the incident but no arrests have been made yet.
