A NUMBER of free events will take place in Bexley next week to mark national carers’ week.

National carers’ week (Monday June 8 until Sunday June 14) recognises all the hard work carers have put into looking after ill or disabled relatives or friends.

The events have been organised by Bexley Council and will include a carers information and support day which will take place on Monday June 8 from 10am until 3pm at Erith Library, Erith High Street.

A tea dance on Tuesday June 9 from 1pm until 3.30pm at The Pincott Hall, Christ Church, Broadway, Bexleyheath.

A concert which will be held at Hall Place, Bourne Road, Bexley on Thursday (JUNE 13).

An information and support day for carers will take place at Gallions Housing Association in Harrow Manorway on Friday (JUNE 12)

Mark Charters, Bexley Council’s director of social and community services said: “Carers’ week gives us the opportunity to highlight the incredible contribution that carers make, sharing the positive experiences as well as the most difficult.

“I hope that we can raise awareness of the support that we can offer to those doing this invaluable job.”
