Plumstead.- When did you form?
The 4 O’Clock Planes pulled themselves together around the beginning of 2002. Describe your sound
We play our own material, gifted to us from the post-punk pen of Mr Ian Long, along the lines of The Ramones, The Stooges, Magazine, The Fall and The Velvet Underground, with a bit of The Clash thrown in for good measure.- Gigs?
We have played a variety of gigs around south London, from private parties to headline gigs. Releases?
The Red EP (Arriving Flights) was released late in 2002. The Blue EP (White Silk Gloves) is released next month. - Hopes and aspirations?
To continue to record and perform Mr Ian Long’s idiosyncratic songs in a bid to confirm him as Plumstead’s very own Lou Reed. -- You can see 4 O’Clock Planes at The Old Tiger’s Head, Lee Green, on December 3, at 8pm. Support is from folk artists The Boat Band and local legends The Young Canadians. Or contact the band on 020 8855 6128.
