POLICE are appealing for information after a taxi driver was attacked.

The 46-year-old man was assaulted in Perry Street, Northfleet, outside the Crown Pub, on April 24 between 10.30pm and 10.50pm when two men jumped into the front passenger seat of his taxi.

He was head-butted and punched and suffered a broken nose, bruising to his neck and two black eyes.

His attackers were in their early to mid 20s.

One was of medium build with shaved brown hair and had a London accent. He was wearing a light-coloured, short-sleeved T-shirt with tattoos on his arms.

Police want to speak to a couple who spoke to the driver afterwards outside Phoenix Taxis in the same road and may have seen the assault.

They also want to speak to another man who also spoke to the driver, and a bus driver who may have been parked on the other side of the road to where the attack took place.

Anyone with information should call 01474 366090 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
