POLICE were called to a Michelin-star restaurant in the early hours of Sunday morning following a brawl at a 21st birthday party.

Three people were arrested at around 12.30am at Chapter One restaurant in Locksbottom.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after staff called police, while a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

A younger man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

All the men have been bailed until May 19, pending further investigations by police.

Operations manager at the restaurant Penny Jackson says a group of partygoers began arguing as they left the restaurant.

She said: “This is unprecedented and nothing like this has ever happened at Chapter One before.

“This was a private party that got out of hand."

Chapter One, in Farnborough Common, Locksbottom, was awarded a Michelin star in this year’s issue of the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland.

Opened in 1996, the restaurant serves modern European cuisine.

Executive chef at the restaurant Andrew McLeish has previously worked as the head chef at The Dining Room at the five-star Landmark Hotel in London.
