SERIOUS runners to those in fancy dress turned out for the first Bromley Fun Run arranged to encourage people of all abilities to get fit.

More than 800 people took part in the race at Norman Park in Bromley Common.

Mayor of Bromley Councillor Denise Reddin started both two races of 5k and 2k.

Many of the runners were sponsored for various good causes including the mayor’s charities such as Harris HospisCare.

The event was organised by Active Bromley a partnership including Bromley Council and leisure trust Bromley Mytime.

Cllr Reddin said: “It’s great to see so many first time runners who may never have run this sort of distance before.

“The youngest runner I saw was about two years old, and the oldest 92 so you’re never too young or too old to enjoy taking part.”
