A POUND shop pellet gun purchase sparked a scare in Beckenham when a shopper thought they saw a real weapon.
Two 14-year-old boys were on their way to the cinema after buying the guns when a member of the public spotted one of the purchases hanging out of a pocket.
Five police officers were called to the scene and the two teenagers were searched outside the Odeon in the High Street at around 5.10pm on Saturday (April 25).
A police spokesman says the boys were warned not to have the weapons in a public place.
The spokesman added that there were no arrests and no armed police attended the incident.
