AN ILLEGAL immigrant was found clinging to the outside of a Eurostar train arriving in Ebbsfleet from Brussels.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers arrested the man at the international station at around 7pm on Thursday (April 23) after discovering him on the outside of the train, which can reach speeds of 186mph.

It is believed he was hiding in the section between two carriages and had boarded the train in France.

A BTP spokesman said: “BTP officers attended Ebbsfleet international rail station at around 7pm on April 23 and detained a man on suspicion of entering the UK illegally.

“The man, believed to be of Indian origin and approximately 20 years old, was taken to a local hospital for a health check and then handed over to the UK immigration service.”
