STUDENTS presented their MP with a petition of 800 signatures to ask the Government support education for the world’s children.
MP for Beckenham, Jacqui Lait received the petition from the girls of Cator Park in Lennard Road, Bromley.
The petition formed part of the school’s Big Read event which was organised by the Global Campaign for Education which wants world leaders to help educate children in poor countries.
Pupils also wrote their own stories, speeches and poems and read them out.
In her comments, Mrs Lait assured the school she would deliver the petition to 10 Downing Street.
She said: "I am very impressed by how involved the girls have been in this project to 'Send my friend to school'.
"They can see that they have a direct influence on politics and I hope that they will continue to be involved in influencing policy development."
