A FESTIVAL celebrating Gravesham’s heritage was officially launched last week.

On Wednesday (april 22) Gravesham Council leader Councillor Mike Snelling was joined by around 30 of the borough’s residents at The Chantry in Fort Gardens to launch the Heritage Festival 2009.

The annual event runs from May 15 to 31 and features around 50 events, including a guided historical walk around Swanscombe on May 17.

There will also be a night time tour of the museum at Milton Chantry in Fort Gardens on May 16 and an antique valuation show on May 22.

Cllr Snelling said: “The heritage festival is a great way to show everything the borough has to offer.”
