AN UNEMPLOYED father-of-two received a hat-rick of parking tickets despite parking legally.

Bromley Council has now cancelled all of the three £50 tickets issued to Craig Williamson for parking on the verge of the pavement in Saxville Road, St Paul’s Cray.

Despite having had two tickets in March quashed by the council, the 35-year-old was given another ticket on Friday.

Mr Williamson, who lives in Longbury Drive, St Paul’s Cray, says there is a sign stating it is legal to park on the verge.

He said: “After I kept getting tickets I got annoyed, it’s almost like a wind-up.

“There's enough grief as it is trying to live with the recession, and you have someone issuing tickets that cost £50.

“It's just the inconvenience of going to the civic centre or writing to them and sorting it out.

“Every time I phone them up they say put it in writing.

“Why should I have to put it in writing when I have done it twice already?”

A council spokesman apologised and said: “We have cancelled the penalty notice and put measures into place to ensure it does not happen again at this location.”
