A father of two is to run the London Marathon to raise money for a cancer charity.
Darrell Purvis, of Lavibonds Avenue, Locksbottom is running for MacMillan Cancer Support, which helps provide specialist cancer care, locally and nationally.
Mr Purvis, a two time marathon runner who runs a barber’s shop in Petts Wood, has been training for the 26 mile race with the Petts Wood Runners running club.
The 42-year-old said: “Everyone knows someone affected by cancer and it’s such a good cause.”
“Macmillan is close to my heart as I lost a dear friend to cancer recently and they were there to help when it was most needed.”
