VISITING WI member Sue Hollings gave a demonstration of Indian cooking at last month’s meeting. Displaying a variety of spices, she told how the hotter flavoured dishes originate from the south of India with the milder ones coming from the north. At the end of the session members were able to taste prepared dishes of chicken curry, pilau rice, accompanied by a riatasa sauce (yoghurt, cucumber and mint) and freshly made chapatti.
Earlier in the month a group of members were entertained by musical Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Churchill Theatre. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2.00pm in Farnborough Village Hall. For details, call 01689 820541.
