AN INDIAN boy who ran away for a second time last summer has been found today after a TV appeal on Monday.

Parvinder Singh came to the UK from India with his parents in June 2007, but his parents left him at a Sikh temple and never returned to pick him up.

The boy, who is now 13, was put into foster care in Bromley, but has run away twice in search of his parents.

After running away and being found in Birmingham two years ago, he ran away again last summer, much to the distress of his foster family.

Following an appeal on a programme called Missing Live on BBC 1 last Monday, a member of the public called police to say they thought they had spotted him working in a shop in Swansea.

South Wales police staked out the shop to identify him and then contacted Bromley police who joined them in an operation this morning to pick the boy up.

He is currently on his way to Bromley with police who are planning to talk to him about the missing months.

His foster family and social services have been informed.

A Bromley police spokesman said: “It’s absolutely fantastic.

“We are very happy that Parvinder has been found as obviously it has been a long time since he went missing.”

Last year, Parvinder left his foster parents a note when he left.

In it he said: "I am leaving home because I am going to search for my mummy and daddy.

"You all should not worry.

"If I find my parents, I will not return home.

He added: "I was very happy with all these people at home.

"I am not leaving this home in anger, but I am helpless now - that I cannot go back to India without my parents.

"Therefore, I am now going to search for my mummy and daddy.”
