A FORMER accounts manager who stole £100,000 from his employer and four clients has been jailed.

Errol Kennedy-Smith, who worked at Withall & Co Accountants in West Wickham High Street, made fictitious expenses claims and bogus invoices between September 2005 and March last year.

He paid the money from four separate accounts into his own building society and credit card accounts.

The 45-year-old, of Apsley Road, South Norwood, pleaded guilty to 27 charges of theft.

Kennedy-Smith was given a 20-month prison sentence when he appeared at Croydon Crown Court.

Judge Tim Stow told him: “You were employed by a very small firm in a responsible position but, in a serious breach of trust, you stole £100,036.

“The clients have to be reimbursed by Withall’s, who are the losers.”

None of the money has been recovered.

The court heard that Kennedy-Smith had been given a 15-month prison sentence in 1992 for obtaining property by deception.
